"I am a fifth year Md/Phd student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have over 900 hours of tutoring with a focus on the Step 1 exam. I focus not on just teaching the material, but using the basic sciences as a tool to teach problem solving and critical thinking. I ask students to step out of their comfort zone, rely less on memorization, and begin applying the knowledge they have. This is key both for doing well on the Step 1, and for clinical practice."
