"Hello!

My name is Merri and I hold a master's degree in Special Education with a graduate certificate in Dyslexia Studies. I have experience teaching 5th grade and 3rd grade with the Vail School District. I also host a book club for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students to enrich their reading lives.

My passion is teaching elementary students. My goal is to support all my students in achieving their best. I use the EEI (essential elements of instruction) model to teach curated lessons that are aligned to state standards. Performance objectives are always aligned to the standard, well thought out and communicated to the student(s).

Modifying and accommodating content and processes for any learner is an essential part of my teaching process. Building in individual student strengths, setting goals and tracking progress are key components to my teaching philosophy. Please let me know if you have any questions!
