"I am a retired teacher with more than 20 years experience teaching English, Biology, and Physical Science to bilingual middle and high school students at Levittown Baptist Academy in Puerto Rico.

I love science and enjoy making it simple and accessible for students who wish to raise their grades, complete projects, and have a better understanding of the subjects covered, whether it be in classroom lectures, in their text and workbooks, or in their homework assignments.

Regarding English, I can help with grammar, vocabulary, literature, writing, spelling, and speech. I have been able to help students at all levels of proficiency improve their language skills. Becoming bilingual myself, I have been able to help others who struggle learning and achieving their goals and better grades in English.

I have dual certification in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages). I hold a BS degree from Corban University in Salem, Oregon, am a graduate of the Spanish Language Institute in San Jose, Costa Rica, and serve as part time faculty at Puerto Rico Baptist College in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. I am also a member of The National Speech & Debate Association's Honor Society (also known as the National Forensic League).

My preferred methodology is to assess the student’s needs, to assist them with their class and homework, and to continue to develop their language skill level and achieve their language goals. Most of my experience has been with the ABEKA curriculum, published by Pensacola Christian College, but I have used and have familiarity with various others.

I have experience teaching online using Zoom, Facebook Video Chat, Online White Boards, and other resources. Besides English, I have taught a host of other middle and high school subjects.
