"With 10 years experience in elementary education and I have taught ESL, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade; my expertise can be found in all things elementary! During my tenure I have found my passion is everything related to English Language Arts: phonics, spelling, fluency, comprehension, writing etc. With my classroom teaching experience, I excel in time management, class management, planning, scaffolding of learning, assessing and tracking progress.

I graduated college in December of 2014 from Missouri Western State University located in St. Joseph, Missouri. With my bachelor degree in Elementary Education and a certification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I have spent the last 10 years teaching in Kansas City in a very culturally diverse public school. Working with such a unique and diverse group of students has especially helped me in becoming a patient, encouraging, empathetic and kind teacher.

Along with teaching, I have tutoring experience in one on one and in small group settings with up to 5 students.

When tutoring the approach I take with my students is I do, We do , You do. When working with students that are needing additional help or being introduced to a new subject, students will know the desired outcome for that lesson prior to beginning the actual lesson.
