"I originally began my teaching career as a Title I Coordinator. This experience enabled me to better understand RTI (response-to-intervention) teaching and tutoring techniques. I spent 2 years in that position before transferring to middle school math and English, where I taught 6-8 grade math and English courses. I was in that position for 8 years.

Recently, I taught as a 3rd grade self-contained instructor. I am certified and able to teach any course or subject matter in grades K-8. I also have my Masters in Education Leadership and am certified to serve as a Principal or Assistant Principal.

I have various levels of experience, but I most like teaching and tutoring 6-8 math and 6-8 vocabulary and grammar. I love teaching and tutoring because it is amazing to see a student find success in something that may have previously been frustrating to them. I enjoy math especially because of all the different methods that can be used to teach the same skill.

I am an outstanding math tutor because I have experience across K-8 math curriculum, and because I enjoy the subject material. I understand the connection between entry level elementary math and how it pertains to skills necessary in upper elementary and middle school math courses. I encourage students to understand WHY the skills help find the answer instead of simply HOW to find it.

Grammar is a skill that can increase a person's perceived intelligence. If someone is very smart but inarticulate (either in written or spoken word), that can give an incorrect impression to others. I am a good grammar teacher because I have taught in the classroom for several years, and because I am passionate about this skill in written and oral communication.
