"Ho Fei, a twenty-four-year-old violist and violinist from Hong Kong, recently graduated from the Juilliard School with a Master of Music degree under the guidance of Prof. Carol Rodland. Beginning this fall, he will pursue his Doctorate at Rice University, studying with Ivo Jan Van-der-Werff. He earned previous degrees at the Eastman School of Music with George Taylor.

Before college, Ho Fei achieved a Licentiate level in both violin and viola from Trinity College's diploma exams, earning a distinction in viola. He also completed Grade 8 piano through the Royal Academy exams (ABRSM). His musical journey began at age four with violin and piano lessons, and at fourteen, he took up the viola in addition to both instruments.

As an educator, Ho Fei offers instruction in viola, violin, and music theory. From 2022 to 2024, he taught at Stamford Music and Arts Academy (SMAA), maintaining a vibrant violin and viola studio with recital showcases. Previously, he mentored students at the ROCmusic organization in Rochester, NY, where he discovered his initial passion for nurturing and guiding aspiring musicians.

His teaching philosophy emphasizes fostering responsibility and discipline, while nurturing a deep love and curiosity for music that extends into other aspects of life. Ho Fei believes that enjoying music is essential and encourages an appreciation that contributes positively to humanity. In his lessons, he employs different technical approaches and materials, complemented by exercises and games that make learning engaging. Ho Fei strives to form a profound connection with each student to understand them individually and grow together.
