"Luke C. is a violinist passionate about teaching and chamber music. He holds a diploma from Mount Royal University, as well as the University of Sherbrooke, and received his Bachelor of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music studying with Ian Swensen under the Sergei Barsukov Scholarship for Violin.
Has been learning violin since growing up. Luke had the opportunity to play for many world-renowned violin pedagogues, which has given him a vast knowledge of the methods of teaching the violin. Luke has several years of experience working with young children, and adults as well on the piano and the violin. He’s won many top prizes at local festivals in Calgary and has also been a National Finalist in two editions of the Canadian Music Competition.
With a versatile technique built upon a solid foundation, the expressive soul of music can be effectively expressed. Furthermore, the process of learning music has the capability of building great character, as well as providing a means to get to know yourself better. Luke teaches the violin with the knowledge and wisdom gained from his work with dozens of world-class teachers. He is continuously striving to improve his teaching, and constantly learning more about how to better learn music, both for himself and his students. With enough passion, talent can be accessed. Luke strives to bring that out in all of his students.
