"My love of the Spanish language began when I was very young growing up with many Hispanics in my neighborhood. I became very fascinated with how my friends were able to communicate in two languages with their family members and with others. I became even more interested and curious when I began taking Spanish class in 8th grade and then continuing on in high school and all throughout college. My interest peaked when I studied and lived in Mexico, Spain, and Costa Rica, therefore enabling me to become a fluent speaker of the Spanish language as well as learning more about the culture and its literature. I have also traveled to Puerto Rico 6 times!
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish with a minor in Latin American Studies. I have tutored Spanish for over 16 years and have also taught in the classroom, but prefer the tutoring setting. One of my goals is to keep the student challenged, but not overwhelmed. I assign challenging homework after each session. I believe we work as a team together to help you accomplish your goal. I have helped many students realize their own potential and saw their grades and test scores improve. I believe in giving students the confidence to succeed.
While I try to be flexible with time. I have a 24 hour cancellation policy.
I like to have a quiet and comfortable study space in which to work with. I prefer a library, but if that is not possible, I request a quiet place perhaps in the student's home, free of distractions and interruptions, and without television.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in learning the Spanish language!" less...
