"I graduated from Virginia Tech in December of 2015 with a Bachelors degree in Physics. I have a very strong background in math and physics/science including topics from basic algebra to geometry and trigonometry to complex numbers to calculus, along with Newtonian mechanics and electromagnetism. In high school I took both AP Calculus and AP Physics. I have tutored in the past and can provide effective and engaging tutoring to anyone who is struggling in these areas.
I pride myself in my ability to really connect with my students. Being as I just graduated, I understand the disconnect sometimes between the teacher and student in the classroom. I always teach for true understanding rather than memorization and try to relate concepts to topics that my students are familiar with.
I always ask questions that indicate to me whether a student understands the material we are reviewing rather than "Do you understand this?" or "Does this make sense?" Often students will say they understand just to avoid embarrassment.
I understand that each student has a different learning style and adapt my lessons to fit each student individually. I personally learn best by physically doing things myself however some students are strong auditory learners or strong visual learners. I am very confident in my abilities to help you improve and achieve the academic success you are capable of!
I am flexible in terms of scheduling a time and location. Please contact me if you have any questions." less...
