"Hello! My name is Varsha, and I hold a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Entrepreneurship from the University of Florida. During my time at UF, I followed the pre-medical track and am currently in the process of applying to medical school.
Teaching has been a significant part of my academic journey. I began tutoring as a part of Varsity Tutors, where I taught International Baccalaureate (IB) subjects to high school students. Building on this experience, I became a student instructor in college after excelling in both Biochemistry and Physics. Throughout my tutoring career, I have accumulated over 1,000 hours of experience, working with students of varying ages and backgrounds. This includes one-on-one sessions, group lessons, and virtual tutoring, where I developed strategies tailored to individual learning styles.
My most recent teaching role was as a Teach For America Fellow, where I worked in low-resource districts in Rio Grande, Texas. In this capacity, I focused on bridging educational gaps for students from underrepresented communities.
I scored in the 96th percentile on the MCAT, with 99th percentile scores in the Chemical and Physical Foundations (CP) and Biological and Biochemical Foundations (BB) sections. My teaching philosophy centers on studying smarter rather than harder. My aim is not just to teach content but also to help students develop effective strategies for tackling difficult subjects and exams.
Having been a student myself, I understand the challenges of learning complex concepts. Seeking tutoring is a sign of resilience, and I am here to support students in overcoming academic obstacles and reaching their full potential." less...
