"Hi, I'm Nancy -- Whether you want to learn the basics of music, prepare for an audition or performance, or just want to hit those high notes in the shower, I would love to help you improve your voice.
I'm a classically trained soprano with degrees from Brown University and the Manhattan School of Music. I've been teaching for almost 20 years privately and on the faculty of a local arts organization. In my operatic singing career, I sang leading roles with the Caramoor Music Festival, Glimmerglass Opera and Aspen Music Festival. I’m currently a soloist with the Irvington Presbyterian Church (and teach there once a week) and perform as a concert artist in the NY metro area.
But please don't let my classical background intimidate you. Yes, it gives me a sound grounding in vocal technique, but I love and teach music of all styles and students at all talent levels and ages. My current roster ranges from age 8 to 82. My students include professional opera, rock and Broadway-style singers, kids, teenagers, and adults taking voice for the love of singing, the fun of the challenge and so they can sound great on karaoke night.
Most important, I'm down-to-earth, warm, patient, practical, and committed to helping you improve. I love my work.
Let me know if you have any questions at all." less...
