"Since I became a teacher twenty years ago, I have taught at the High School, Middle and Elementary school levels, in a variety of courses and subjects. I have worked with and been an advocate of students from different socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. I have worked in inclusion classes with teenagers considered at-risk, academically deficient, ESL learners from Hispanic and Asian countries, and students with a variety of emotional and academic needs. I have also taught students in the Talented and Gifted Program. My experiences have enabled me to learn, adapt, grow, change and be better equipped to assess and help meet the diverse needs of my students.
I have worked in inclusion classes with teenagers considered at-risk, academically deficient, ESL learners and students with a variety of emotional and academic needs. My extensive teaching experience has shown me that students who are engaged and ready to learn are those who will improve the most. That is why I am adamant about spending the time and effort/research it takes to prepare and make sure my lessons are learner-centered and students are active in lessons, to keep my students engaged, because I know that my students learn better by doing things. In the past school year, 2019-2020, I taught 10th grade Chinese students in English, Reading Language Arts, Speech and Grammar at the English School attached to Guangdong University School of Foreign Students, in the Sino-American Program. I am currently teaching high school level at an Academy in Fort Worth.
I have a passion for teaching and have taught in different states as well as different parts of the world. I have a positive attitude about my students and am diligent inside and outside the classroom. In conclusion, if you're looking for a teacher who is encouraging, understanding, empathetic, dedicated and committed to his students, then it would be to your advantage to give me a try." less...
