"Greetings! My name is John. I am a graduate of Slippery Rock University with bachelor’s degrees in Secondary Social Studies and Elementary Education. I've been a World History teacher for over 25 years. During my professional career I have also become a Nationally Board-Certified Teacher in Secondary Social Studies. I have always been drawn to history, when explaining historical events, I can see the events play out like a movie in my head. When explaining history to students I try to make the content as if I am describing a show or movie that I have currently watched.
In my life I have only wanted to do one thing, and that was to teach history. I have been blessed in my life that I am able to do this, and I wish to continue doing for many more years. I have enjoyed teaching many aspects of this discipline from Basic Modern World History to AP World History. Yep, I've taught from cavemen to spacemen. I have also taught Civics, Current Events, European History, US History and AP Comparative Government. I am also knowledgeable with AP US History.
When I help a student, I wish to diagnose the problem they are having and make them self sufficient. I have taught AP classes since 2016 and am aware of the requirements of the College Board for multiple choice, DBQ, SAQ, and LEQ questions. I am also able to summarize and explain required content for AP World, AP US History, AP Government, and AP Comparative Government. I enjoy teaching other topics of history and willing to give it my best shot in helping. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson." less...
