Coursework (or a job application!) however demands a higher standard - a clear demonstration that material has been mastered. Not a quick gloss, but a thoughtful and expressive response to the task that has been received.

My own children were often quizzed by their college professors because their writing was markedly superior to most of their classmates. There was no magic in their background, but there was some discipline in how writing assignments were approached and completed. This can be shared and learned.
