"I am a writer & educator with nearly a decade of experience in the fashion industry. In spring of 2024, I completed my Master's degree in Fashion Studies at Parsons School of Design, where I graduated with a 3.95 GPA. My work focuses on the use of fashion as a means of resistance, and my thesis was selected as one of the featured works for the university.
I have spent the last year teaching on both the undergrad and graduate levels and have taught courses on visual culture, fashion history, and fashion theory. While completing my degree, I served as a TA and taught undergraduate level courses in Composition and History of Fashion for upwards of 30 students per section. I also serve as a mentor for young designers at Parsons and FIT, providing crucial feedback to students as they attempt to find their way as designers.
As a tutor, I lean on both my experience working with students at universities across the city, as well as my understanding of the industry as a creative and communications professional. Whether one on one or in a classroom setting, I take an individualized approach to teaching by creating lesson plans tailored to each student's unique needs and learning styles. I have experience teaching Writing, English Lit, a range of fashion & visual culture subjects, and US and World History, due to my undergrad degree in political science. Whether I'm working with high school, college, or adult learners, I always aim to foster a learning environment that is collaborative and respectful, irrespective of age or ability.
I am also the founder of DUALITY NEW YORK, a creative consulting agency that focuses on communications, events, and content for sustainable fashion brands and organizations. I have produced, styled, and directed numerous fashion shows, photoshoots, and activations for brands large and small here in NYC. In addition, I have nearly a decade of experience managing and implementing marketing campaigns in the fashion industry, which makes me a more well rounded and knowledgeable educator." less...
