"Throughout my academic and professional careers, I have gained expert knowledge in various writing styles and formats, such as research papers, scientific writing, theses (thesis), and dissertation(s). I also have experience publishing articles in scientific journals, namely the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
My experiences as a student and author have given me the ability to explain ideas and concepts in new and interesting ways. I am excited to share my mastery of English, science, and public speaking with my students and love watching them succeed.
I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and studied medical microbiology at UConn graduate school. I also completed over 2 years of scientific research at UConn Department of Surgery. Shortly after, I received a Master of Science in Biomedical Science at Tufts University School of Medicine. In doing so, I completed course work equal to the complexity of medical school that focused on cell biology, physiology, microbiology, biochemistry, pathology, and dentistry. My academic and research experiences have enabled me to understand and investigate the complexities of biological sciences. I have also been awarded a Leadership and Public Speaking certification by Hobart and William Smith Colleges and have experience with various aspects of public speaking, including script writing. I coach students for Ted Talks, interviews, executive meetings, and large audience conferences.
To date, I have worked with over 250 college students and PhD candidates as a writing and public speaking coach. The feedback has been fantastic and students always leave with a greater understanding and positive outlook on their writing and communication skills.
