"I’m Brandon! I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Yale University. Additionally, I was named to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team for all four of my years, and was also named a Krampade Scholar All-American. Previously, I have worked for the Yale ONEXY program, in which I helped prepare incoming freshman to be able to handle college mathematics. In this setting, I was assigned to a focus group of 5-10 students per session, in which I would go over the assigned material before moving on to practice problems. My style is to provide structure and guide the students, but also to allow for enough freedom to be able to try problems on their own. Of course, I am always eager to answer questions of any sort. Furthermore, I also have experience tutoring at all grades below the college level through locally booked individual sessions. I specialize in algebra and pre-calculus, but am comfortable in tutoring with numerous other topics.
As a student who had been tutored, I understand that the main goal is to accomplish what you, the student, wants. So whether it be a general lesson about a topic, or working through a set of homework questions, I will cater our time to you. I also prioritize being able to communicate easily and clearly, both in how I explain the material and what I write down. I am very easy to reach and flexible in scheduling; all I ask is that you provide the materials you wish to work with prior so I may prepare. Finally, please let me know 24 hours prior to our scheduled lesson if you plan on cancelling.
Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to a schedule a lesson!" less...
