"I love helping students connect with math and engineering. When complex subjects start to “click” and the student realizes that they now understand a topic they previously thought was beyond their reach, it is very rewarding for me. I was fortunate enough to have had strong tutors and mentors along my journey, so I understand the importance and value that can bring.

To my students, I offer you expert guidance with understanding, patience, and encouragement. Most students are prepared to work hard, however, working hard without the right tools will lead to burn out. My approach to tutoring is to listen, to work to understand where and why you’re struggling, and to support you by framing the problems in multiple ways, suggesting refinements to your study techniques, and providing real-world examples when possible.
I have a PhD in mechanical engineering from ASU with a hard fought 4.0 grade point average. In a robotics R&D company that I helped establish, I have applied this knowledge to complex human-machine integration projects. My teaching experience includes adjunct work at Maricopa Community College, substituting for absent instructors during graduate school, and even leading a lego-robotics club for 5th graders.
You don’t have struggle alone. Sometimes a fresh perspective can greatly help your understanding of the material. Working too hard on the wrong thing or in the wrong way, can lead to burn out, frustration, and insecurity. I've been there. These subjects did not come naturally to me and I've spent years "learning how to learn." I did it, and you can too. Contact me so we can begin working on this together." less...
