"I have obtained a Master's Degree in Applied Mathematics in 2013 from SDSU and a Bachelor's Degree in Pure Mathematics from UCSD. I am planning to teach at community colleges in the near future. Tutoring is a great way for me to refresh my knowledge and to gain more teaching experience.
At SDSU, I was working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, where I prepared, lectured, and reviewed specialized supportive lessons to calculus students in parallel with the professor's lectures.

This allowed me to scratch the surface in discovering what it takes to be a good teacher. It’s often said that one learns 90% of the material that they teach. I found this to be especially true when I was a tutor since even though you may think you understand the material, you don’t learn it as well as you should until you have to teach it to someone else. As a result, I was able to improve my skills in both math and teaching from my tutoring experience
Moreover,as a requirement of my previous educational studies coursework for EDS 129A, I was assigned to De Portola Middle School in San Diego. In my time there, I shadowed a math teacher and my time was split between both observation and direct participation in the instructional process. When coupled with good learning skills, students can strengthen their performance in school and improve the chances of success in the f" less...
