"Hello,

My name is Matthew H. and I am a 23 year old college senior. I am majoring in History and plan on teaching after graduation. I recently had to make a big move, which caused me to transfer to a new university. Before transferring, I was a social science major, which is basically taking history, sociology, geography, political science/government, economics, and philosophy to study how humans behave and interact with one another. I have always been a very strong student and always well rounded. I have tutored college world and US history for two years and coached club and high school soccer for three. I also have experience teaching a homebound student. I love working with all ages and I have been able to succeed at every stop.

I was captain of my high school's math MACC (Quiz Bowl) team. Math came easy to me but for our team to be successful I had to teach and show my steps to my teammates, so that they too could understand how to reach the answer. I also finished taking Math by my junior year of high school and can help get students on the fast path!

I was an outstanding biology student and I absolutely loved learning molecular biology. I have received an A in every Biology class I have taken from basic elementary science to college biology/ biology lab.

Being a history major, I have read a lot. There is no better way to understand the culture and people of a certain time period than reading what they were writing! Literature goes just as important to a social scientist as discovering artifacts from a dig site.

I am a great test taker and have never failed a Standards of Learning (SOL) test. I know testing tricks and practices that is sure to help anybody struggling to pass or has bad test anxiety!
