"With a degree in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University and a diverse professional background in operations consulting, project management, and investor relations, I bring a unique combination of technical expertise and real-world experience to my tutoring practice. My work has honed my analytical, organizational, and communication skills, which I integrate into my teaching to provide a comprehensive and practical learning experience. This foundation, combined with years of hands-on teaching and tutoring, equips me to support students across a variety of subjects and goals.
My teaching journey spans several years and diverse settings. From 2019 to 2020, I volunteered as an SAT and AP Biology tutor, supporting classroom instruction and test preparation for students aged 14 to 18. During this time, I emphasized breaking down complex concepts into manageable lessons and fostering a supportive environment where students felt comfortable asking questions. In 2021, I gained small group teaching experience as a TA for Columbia University’s high school engineering program. I led courses in computer science and game design, creating interactive lessons that encouraged creative thinking and hands-on problem-solving.
From 2022 to the present, I've focused on one-on-one adult ESL tutoring, helping students improve their language skills to achieve personal and professional goals. Additionally, I serve as a personal project advisor for high school students navigating the college application process, guiding them through project-based learning and application strategies. I employ a personalized approach, tailoring lessons to individual learning styles—whether visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. My main goal is to help students feel confident in themselves, build their problem-solving skills, and tackle challenges with a sense of self-assurance. It’s not just about helping them succeed academically—it’s about giving them the tools and confidence they need to keep learning and thriving long after our time together." less...
