"Reading and writing are my jam. I earned a perfect score on the Reading Section of the ACT on my first attempt. I have a unique approach that focuses on understanding what each standardized test is truly assessing you on--which the testing companies are rarely upfront about. Once you understand what the tests are looking for, you can use that and the standardized format to 'game' the system and achieve your best possible score.

In addition to test prep, I often work with students grades 5-9 to improve their reading and writing skills via novel study, often due to COVID-related learning loss. I have a variety of curriculums for novels like "Ender's Game," "The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle," "Fahrenheit 451" etc that include comprehension questions, vocab, essays, & creative assignments. My students have seen significant improvement in their skills & often become more enthusiastic readers through working with me.

I also have hundreds of hours of experience working with students with ADHD and Autism. I have helped these learners achieve their academic goals, going from the bottom 10 to the top 10 percent of their class, by understanding the unique way their brains work. I’ve taken advanced seminars on teaching ADHD students and learned specific techniques to help these students succeed.

I earned a BA in Theatre from BYU and an MFA in Acting from UNLV in Las Vegas, and I also work as an actor and director. As a result, I have spent years honing my verbal communications skills, which means I am able to communicate in a way students can easily understand. I am an engaging tutor that students look forward to seeing.
